Dr. Florencia P. Sellers, a resident of Deatsville, AL. expired Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 am First Baptist Church (GWP) Rev. Leon Hampton, Pastor, Prophetess Gwendolyn Foster, Officiating with interment in Brookside Cemetery (Millbrook). The body will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 am until services time Lewis - Robusky Mortuary LLC of Montgomery directing. Dr. Florencia Patterson Sellers was born November 12, 1962 to Mrs. Lillie Young Patterson and the late Rev. Clinton David Patterson. She was the oldest daughter of six siblings. She accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Peace Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined First Baptist Church in 1979 under her Dad's leadership. After moving to Montgomery she joined First Baptist Church Greater Washington Park and subsequent years she accepted her calling into the ministry and united with Gospel Truth International Church. She matriculated through the Birmingham City Schools System where she graduated with the Senior Class of 1980. She attended Talladega College where she was initiated into Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and graduated with a degree in Chemistry in May 1984. She received an MD from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Scxhool in 1991. She completed her residency in Family Practice at the University of AL in 1994. She practiced across the state of AL for years before serving as Staff Physician for the Ambulatory Care Department for Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System where she served until her passing. In 1988, Florencia met and married the love of her life Warren Sellers. Florencia was a giver and a lover of God's word, She loved her family dearly and was so proud of all of their accomplishments. Those she left to cherish her memories are: her loving and faithful husband, Warren Sellers, mother, Lillie Y. Patterson, brothers, Miuchael D. Jordan, Gary Ryan, sisters, Clintonia Patterson, Donnetta Patterson, Edshena (Russell) Allen, Bernita Patterson- Ryan, eleven nieces, fifteen nephews, brother-in-laws, Mack (Sherry) Sellers, Herman Sellers, sister-in-laws, Bertha (Rev Eli) Johnson, Alcesdean (Rev. Lionel) Melton, Rosetta Sellers, Maxine Murray and Dianne Murray, aunts, Ernestine Hollinshed, Classic (Willie) Thomas, Norma Jean (Donald) Sanders, Brenda (James) Long, uncle, Henry (Brenda)Sanders, Ernestine Sanders, Jr., a hosts of other nieces, nephew cousins, adopted/Godchildren and friends.
